About Us
Birch Equine Rehabilitation is a track system based in Ammanford, South Wales at the foot of the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons.
Our tracks are set across 9 acres with varying terrain and terrific views.
We offer a variety of packages to suit a range of horses, with specially built facilities.
All equine care is overseen by a qualified massage therapist (BSc Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation) with the option for regular treatments.
Our Approach
Our aim at Birch Rehab and Retirement is to provide a natural environment for horses while allowing specific needs to be met for each individual.
We take a holistic approach to each horse, ensuring optimum health inside and out, regardless of age, injury or conditions.
The track provides higher levels of movement than a standard field, coupled with many forms of enrichment and optional massage treatments, it promotes both physical and mental stimulation.

For non-ridden equines needing a place to live out their days
All ages, injuries and health conditions catered for
Mixed herd (no colts/stallions)
Barefoot only - will assist with transition
Option for regular treatments by onsite Sports Therapist

Firm and level track surface with optional sloped sections to increase mobility
Closable field shelter area to minimize movement as required
Detailed rehab plans made in accordance to vets/farrier advice

For horses needing to lose weight or recovering from laminitis
Soft sand track with stable area
Strict but appropriate diets
Hoof care as required including remedial trimming/shoeing
